This controller actually pulled me back into playing my Nintendo 64 again! I love the system, but always hated how short the controller cables were on the original controllers. When I saw an ad for these controllers and I found out they were wireless, yet still capable of supporting a memory pack, I knew I had to try one. I picked the red one to match my watermelon red console, and it looks like an exact match in color! The multiple color options immediately caught my eye, especially the translucent look of the colorful ones. As a 90s kid that played N64 with a translucent Atomic Purple controller, this was like a blast from the past with a modern twist!I was also excited about the controller being rechargeable, and having about 10 hours of play time per each full charge. I haven’t timed my play time since I’ve last charged the controller, but it has definitely lasted a few hours so far!The buttons are responsive, and I love the ergonomic “modern” feel the controller has in your hands. I haven’t noticed any lagging in the games I’ve been playing, and I like the playability with the joystick on this controller as opposed to the original Nintendo controller. I think eventually I’ll pick up another one of these controllers for multiplayer games, because the blue/teal option is really catching my eye, too.Overall, I’m very impressed that Retro Fighters was able to create a fully-functional, wireless controller for a retro system like the N64. Now I’m hoping that eventually they’ll release a wireless version of their “StrikerDC” controller for Dreamcast!
