If you liked the previous Wolfenstein games in the current series there is alot to like here as well. The game is clearly meant to be an extension of New Colossus as it features almost the exact same weapon set and enemy types from that game. What is new is the co-op which works incredibly well. Its drop in functions seamlessly with no interruption for the player who is being joined and even supports system level voice chat. I use an 3.5mm headphone extension to allow me to plug my headset into my Switch while docked. The downsides of the chat are that there is no slider for adjusting voice chat volume beyond a certain point so it is important to have the headphone volume of your Switch maxed out and then lower the volume of the game itself in the audio options. Given how few games support this feature on Switch I was more than happy to deal with a little volume tweaking. Also worth mentioning about the co-op is the level system.I know a lot of people were unhappy with the addition of RPG elements as they pad out an otherwise short experience. While it is true they are not necessary I actually appreciate the length they add to the game and give you much more customization to your abilities to make your character somewhat unique. It is possible to earn all of the unlocks but would require playing well after the credits roll on the story to get them all.One final side note is that your co-op partner's level and unlocks are their own so for example if you are nearing the end game you can be joined by a low level player and the enemies will not scale down meaning they will have a very hard time staying alive.Regarding the deluxe edition specifically. You may have seen talk that this game has microtransactions that are making alot of players complain. The deluxe edition comes with several of the skins that are normally obtained through microtransactions and the added value of the buddy pass which lets you play with any friend who does not have a copy of the game are great added value for a game that is not even full priced to begin with. I added the price of the only skins I did not get and it would cost less than the $5 pack of silver bars to get the rest of the items I did not get with the deluxe edition. Which as a side note shipped for $8 less than the list price from when I preordered so the rage over the addition of microtransactions baffles me as they are mostly cosmetic with the exception of a few "fast forward" items that give an optional exp and cash gain boosts.TLDR if you like killing nazis with a friend at a discount you cant beat Wolfenstein Youngblood.
