I was looking for a new controller preferably something comfortable and/or aesthetically pleasing and these looked exactly like what I was looking for. After receiving the item, I noticed a few things comparatively different among other similar brands. Although, it might look the same as a binbok or nyxi and i've owned them previously; however, there is a difference that I noticed.Gyro - the gyro feels a lot more different and compared to the other two is a lot better. I've tested with a few games like Quake and recently Neon White and both gyro controls worked perfectly fine. Feels relatively close to 1:1 in my opinion. These also feel a lot better than my 8bitdo controller gyros. Are they better than the official nintendo ones? No, the official joycons gyro are the best but these comes really close 2nd.DPAD - the dpad is a lot better than others as well. The competitors dpads are extremely stiff like binboks for example. IINE dpads are clicky and very responsive. The only issue I found with mine is that you can't push in the center too far. Most good dpads you can cover your thumb over it and move it around with ease. These offer that but I kinda want it more concave. I've owned extremerate's dpad controller replacement kits and I feel like those are the best dpads for the switch, in my opinion. 8bitdo a close second and then follow by these ones. Of course, these are thousand times better than the joycon "dpads." These are decent enough to play with. I've tested a few games like Tetris Effect and I had absolutely no issues playing with the dpad on it. Platformers also have no issues too.Trigger buttons - Mine came in with clicky left controller trigger buttons and the right one not so clicky which is odd. Although, I have no issues with them. It might be two different QC workers working on two different controller batches. Yours might be different. Not sure, maybe the set I received was different. They do not affect the gameplay whatsoever. They are similar to the official joycons triggers but I feel like the LR and ZR on these are better. They have the hook which wraps around your index more comfortably compared to the official joycons which slants downwards which does not feel that comfortable compared to these. Please note these do not have third triggers on the back so you can't control a third L and R trigger buttons. Which is fine because I feel like those get in the way of the comfortably factor. I dont think any controllers in the market have these third triggers in these size. You can only find them in Hori Split pad pros and the bigger joycons.Everything else is pretty much the same. The ergonomics, face buttons and joysticks are the same as other brands but they different in quality control from what i've seen. They are comfortable for my hands, so it is perfect for middle size hands and small size hands. Bigger hands might look for something like the bigger ones. I know that IINE sells a bigger one too. The face buttons all worked fine, and I did an input test with each one. There was a small issue with the Y button not entirely registering properly and I went to the customer support, and they were incredibly helpful in fixing my issue. The joysticks do have a slight deadzone but again I did test these with FPS games like Quake and I have no issues with them. Supposably, they all have the same joysticks and I do not think a firmware update might help but I could be wrong. If I were to rate, the least deadzone controllers it'll be: Nintendo official joycons, pro/8bitdo, horis and then these. Since these gyros are a lot better than their competitors I feel like it's not a major a issue as long as the game supports gyro these are suitable for any fps games.Lastly, the texture of the controllers feel like something from a car. Not glossy so you wont feel much sweat off it. They have little bumps in the back of the controllers which helps with the grip of the controller. Note: they do not include the center piece for the controllers so if you didn't get one it's not supplied with it. Which is fine by me because I never used them. I preferably use my 8bitdo for that. One more thing, I've owned binboks before and those tend to de-sync from the switch a lot. These dont have that issue so far. I realize perhaps it may be a bluetooth issue. I've owned and played my joycons for over 2000 hours and those sometimes de-sync as well. These may de-sync but so far I have no problems with these controllers. I only had major de-sync issues with binboks.I wish I could give this a 2.5 star rating. That would feel better. 3 just for the sake of rounding up I guess. Mostly this device is ok. Biggest cons?- Thumbstick creek and... pop? Hard to explain but you can feel the mechanism through your thumbs a tad when moving the thumbsticks. You can probably learn to ignore it but not a good sign for QC. Worried about how long they might last.- Moving the thumbstick in any direction causes the plastic rings around said thumbsticks to click against the chasis of the joycons. I fixed this by adding the smallest amount of superglue around the black rings around the thumbsticks. Simple fix but seriously?- The rumble motor on the right joycon was BROKEN. I thought it was just dead out of the box but I opened up the joycon and re-soldered the rumble to the circuit board. However the rumble motor still sounds broken compared to the left rumble. I even added some extra silicon glue where the rumble motor lives to add extra absorption. Rumble still sounds higher pitched and broken.- The triggers (all of them) feel stiff and ard hard to use. Not terrible but... again passable (barely).PROS PROS PROS- Mostly feature rich compared to stock oem Joycons. No NFC but meh. They have everything else even if some of them are poo.- Motion sensor works great!- Joycons fit snug on the console- COMFY! These are obviously some kind of BinBok knock offs (double knockoff across the skyyyy what does it meeeaaannnn?) But the comfort is totally there. Fits my slightly larger hands nicely.SummeryI think these would be more acceptable for 30 bucks. At 40? Don't get me wrong we don't have alot of options out there for joycons that mostly do what the originals do so. Its fine. Its not something I'm using with "joy". I'd call them "Passable-cons". But hey at least my hands aren't cramping. I'll use them until they break.
